how to kill a laptop

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas - I certainly did, lovely times with family and friends, fantastic food, great presents and time to relax and enjoy the special time of year.

One spanner in the works of a totally wonderful Christmas was killing my laptop though! I stupidly managed to spill hot tea all over it and of course it was instant death - and nope, I hadn't saved any of my data...gggrr!

It's gone to the computer hospital today to see if there's any chance of it being resucitated, or at least retrieving the data - fingers crossed. In the meantime I've been able to hop on my mum's computer when I can to check emails etc but I won't be able to post any projects to my blog which is so annoying - you really don't realise how much you rely on computers til they don't work do you?

Still, if I use the time to get back in my craft room after a break over Christmas here's hoping I'll have some things to show when the saga resolves itself!

Til then, wishing everyone a wonderful new year - here's to a healthy and happy 2009!

Awww Kate that is horrendous - it was bad enough when mine was away for a day to rid it of the viruses I had - it's terrible without it!
Now mine won't read any of my discs - I'm fearing the worst again! At least everything else is working for now!!
Glad you had a lovely Xmas

hugs

Argh- I know when I had repairs on my laptop I felt lost until it returned home.. I hope they can at least get the data off.
Glad Christmas was good otherwise!

Man, sorry to hear about the computer. I hope the data can be saved.

Since I discovered blogging, I would be going crazy right now, if that had happened to me.

Happy New Year!

Hi Kate, Sorry to hear of your probs - my pc picked up a few virus/trojan invasions last year and had to go to the pc doc, and I was amazed at how much I missed being cut-off, should I say logged off? Hope it gets sorted out soon. Missed you!
Best wishes, ikki x

Sorry about your laptop! Mine crashed in October and I was without one for almost a month. I wasn't able to save anything off of mine, hopefully you will be able to! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year's Eve!
