Carrot and Orange

Happy Friday everyone. What a bizarre week it has been. I don't think anyone who lives in England thought we'd ever see the scenes we witnessed this week. I turned on my tv on Tuesday night to see shops on the road where I used to live in London on fire and looted.  Unbelievable.

But it's at times like these that I think the simple things in life like crafting and cooking bring even more comfort than normal. I managed to find time to do both this week for my dad's birthday. I was trying to stay away from the blues and browns (yawn!) I always head straight for when making male cards, so instead based the colour scheme on the flavour of the cupcakes - carrot and orange!
Card details:
Stamps: Tiny Treats Birthday
Card: Stamper's Select White, Orange Zest, New Leaf
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Other: Copic Sketch Markers, Double Ended Banner dies, Limitless Layers 1 3/4" dies, Arglye Impression Plate

This is also my card for our brand new challenge on A Passion for Papertrey - check out the challenge here, and the prize you could win;)
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs,

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads in the world! Here's the card I made my dear dad. He's had to undergo medical treatment recently so all the more reason to let him know how much he means to me...

Recipe:
Stamps: Masculine Motifs (PTI)
Card: Kraft/ Enchanted Evening/ Fine Linen (PTI)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento )/Enchanted Evening (PTI)
Other: Nestabilities (Spellbinders)/sewing machine

My family are big cricket fans so tucked inside were tickets to for him, my mum and me to go and see a 20/20 cricket match this Friday... so far all the 20/20 matches at Somerset have been rained off so pretty please can it be good weather?!

Bye for now,

male birthday

Yesterday's Inspiration and Themes Challenge at In Love With Stamping is men - or rather to make a card for a man, not easy is it?!

I like this colour combo for masculine cards - Bashful Blue, Choc Chip and Very Vanilla. The star from the In the Stars set was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and punched out with the star punch - I love that it co-ordinates perfectly with this stamp...so easy!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
