Happy day!

Why is it a happy day?! Well, there are a couple of reasons - firstly today is the start of my favourite fortnight of the year....

...new balls please, it's Wimbledon!! Time for the whole country to go tennis mad and immerse ourselves in this most wonderful sporting event - I won't be going this year but I'll be watching every minute I possibly can:)

A love of tennis is definitely in my blood - for all of his working life my dear Grandad, a fantastic tennis player who is sadly no longer with us, used to take his two week holiday from work over Wimbledon so he could watch the whole thing! I'm sure my Grandmother would have liked to have gone away but Wimbledon was the priority!

It's also a happy day because it's my dear friend Aimes' birthday - Aimes and I 'met' online a few years ago, hit it off immediately and our friendship has grown ever since. She is now my partner in crime over on A Passion for Papertrey, and aside from being a fabulous crafting buddy is one of my dearest friends - many is the time we ring each other to discuss blog business and two hours into the phone call still haven't got around to it!

Here's a pic of us from last November when we met in the flesh for the first time!

Happy Birthday hun! Hope you're having a fabulous day and I can't wait to see you in July!!

Ok, so onto some crafty talk! Yesterday afternoon I managed to drag myself away from the glorious sunshine into my craft room, and with nothing specific to create I decided to combine the current Embellish challenge:

..with Claire's WMS sketch challenge:

..and came up with this. It was quite fun to make a baby card with more unusual colours!

Recipe:
Stamps: Baby Button Bits (PTI)
Card: Melon Berry/Vintage Cream/Spring Moss
Papers: Bitty Box Basics - Lemon Tart
Other: Copic Markers/Melon Berry Saddle Stitch Ribbon (PTI)/green button(Hero Arts)/Oval Nestabilities/Swiss Dots Embossing Folder/Cuttlebug

Thanks for stopping by today!
