all wrapped up

(*spoiler alert* - if you're a close stamping friend of mine who has a birthday very soon look away now unless you want to see your birthday card!!)

This week a very dear friend of mine celebrates her birthday. I loved this Orla Kiely wrapping paper and when wrapping her present I decided to use it as inspiration for her birthday card.

I used one of the leaves from the all-new You Are set from Clearly Besotted to replicate the pattern from the wrapping paper - I love the colour scheme!

Stamps: You Are, Cute and Cuddly (Clearly Besotted), Card: Rustic Cream, Simply Chartreuse, Ink: Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse (SU), London Fog (Memento), Other: Grey Pen, twine

Here they are together, reminds me I should try to use more colours on my cards - I tend to get stuck in a two/three colour scheme!

Thanks for visiting and a very happy birthday week to the recipient of this card (did you peek?!)!

hello you

Hi!

I've been quiet for a while having had a few weeks holiday, visiting friends and then a holiday in Cornwall. Cornwall is one of my favourite places in the word, it's just a few hours from me and my family and I have always holidayed there. The past few times I've had a break in Cornwall it poured but this time I managed to pick the hottest week in the year and it was glorious!

One of my favourite things to do when I'm in North Cornwall is to get up really early and go for a long walk along the coastpath - there's nothing like having an entire beach to yourself at 6am:

Now onto a card - this is my sample for our current challenge on a A Passion for Papertrey. There's still a few days to join in, the details are here!

Stamps: Trendy Tree Tops (PTI)
Card: White, Hawai’in Shores, Harvest Gold
Ink: Hawai’in Shores, Harvest Gold, Black

I'll be back tomorrow with some samples featuring the fab new stamps from Clearly Besotted Stamps!

Have you got anything fun planned for the weekend? Tonight I'm going to see Eddie Izzard in Cardiff... yay! It's almost 20 years since I first saw him perform live there  - oh dear that is showing my age!

Whatever you're doing.. have fun!

Hugs,

chippy challenge

Hi there,

Time for a challenge! This week's CAS-usal Fridays challenge is to use chipboard... hmmm, don't do that very often. But a few years ago I went through a thicker/sticker/chipboard alpha buying phase (mostly unused!) so I dug out some pretty Heidi Grace alphas and used them for this card:

Supplies: Card: Rustic White/Sweet Blush (PTI), Heidi Grace alphas, Swiss Dots embossing folder, scallop border die, Sweet Blush button, twine

Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,

Hello!

Hello hello!!

Well that was a slightly longer break than I intended to take! Even though I haven't been blogging I have been secretly still stalking all my favourite blogs and actually the break has been good as it's reinforced how much I love creating for me not because I 'have to' for a blog... know what I mean? But I have missed this lovely community so I'm back with lots of creations to share with you!

Here's a new baby card made for a sweet little boy born last week...

Sunshine on a rainy day

Well it's not quite BBQ weather but thankfully the rain has stopped for long enough to do a bit of gardening and enjoy a coffee outside.

Our current challenge on A Passion for Papertrey is all about this favourite of conversation-starters here in the UK - the weather! Because of the constant rain and flooding over the past few weeks I made a card that makes me think of lying on a beach and drinking cocktails... well I can dream!

Card Deets:
Stamps: A Day at the Beach/Scattered Showers
Ink: Summer Sunrise/Harvest Moon/Aqua Mist/Raspberry Fizz/Smokey Shadow
Card: Stamper's Select White
Other: Oval die/Cuttlebig Swiss Dots Embossing folder

Hugs,
